Can we just shout it from the rooftops? Spring is F-I-N-A-L-L-Y here and we’re doing a happy dance. With spring comes clothing pieces that have long been forgotten about in our winter haze. Bring out the tanks, the spring dresses and the cropped pants! Bring on colors other than black and gray!
Easter also comes with spring, and it’s exciting to think about dressing up a bit without the constraints of hiding under sweaters and parkas. We have some outfit ideas and pieces to look for when shopping for Easter outfits and a newly refreshed spring closet.
This NWT dress from Alya caught our attention right away with its dreamy pale blue color and drawstring waist. With its long sleeves that can be rolled, it is versatile enough for the unpredictable weather that spring tends to bring. Even better, it’s dressy enough to be worn on Easter Sunday but can be dressed down for everyday wear as well.
If you are coming out of the other side of a terribly long winter with terribly pale legs and don’t exactly feel ready to show them off, grab a maxi dress, like this one from Maurices. The florals and light fabric keep it from feeling too heavy and still spring-like. If you need more warmth, you could top it with a jean jacket without feeling stuffy.
It’s time to shed the black and dark colors we’ve been wearing for months for something lighter and airy. White is wonderful for spring because it’s so friendly with the pastel colors that spring is famous for as well as bolder and more jewel-toned hues. Basically, if you want a color to pop, pair it with some white pants, like these from Talbots. We like the wider leg verses the skinny pants because it feels dressier and can be paired with nearly any type of top.
Florals are a must-have print for spring and work so well when incorporated in Easter outfits. The colors in this plus-size floral top from Como Vintage scream Easter. Match it up with light pink or deep green pants and some heels for an easy, breezy outfit perfect for church and brunch.
Printed pants are always a hit when the temperatures increase, and this H&M pair is a great example. They are ankle-length, which is perfect for showing off those mules that have been hiding in your closet all winter. Add a tucked-in blouse (we’d look for one in baby blue to really pull out the colors in the print) and a statement necklace for a complete outfit.
This year we can add pants with details such as ribbon stripes down the side or buttons. These plus size, NWT pants from Love Scarlett have dainty buttons down the sides, adding visual interest to a rather simple silhouette. We think they would be adorable with a boatneck top, a pendant necklace and oversized clutch.
reStitch tip: With pants like these, make sure they are on the longer side and wear them with a pair of slightly pointed heels to elongate your legs and frame. Sleek and chic, girlfriend!
Who doesn’t want an all-in-one outfit that is trendy and easy, especially when it comes to Easter outfits? Girl, you need a jumpsuit. This one from Umgee would be head-turning. We think simpler is better with this trend, so keep your accessories understated. We would add a dainty necklace and a pair of wedges or strappy flat sandals.
